Lyvia Image Generation Guide Part 2: Transforming Images

Lyvia Image Generation Guide Part 2: Transforming Images

Now that you can generate good images, let's explore how to manipulate images!

Uploading initial image

In previous part, you learned how to generate images just from your prompt. Now, we'll try to generate images based on an existing image.

Let's see... Here I have an illustration I picked from Google search results. Googled "chinese girl illustration" and I kind of like this one:

Let's transform it into a realistic photo!

  1. Open up Lyvia.
  2. Type "realistic" as the Prompt.
  3. In Style, choose Lyvia 3.
  4. Initial Image (img2img) box, upload the picture.
  5. Just under the Initial Image box, there is a Denoising Strength setting. Set it to 0.7
  6. Tap Generate.

Results can be quite random, you need to generate a few and pick the best one. Play around with Denoising Strength setting; the higher the value is, the more the image will change. A denoising strength of 0 will not change the image, and denoising strength of 1 will create a completely new image.

Recommended value is between 0.4 to 0.8. I find the denoising strength of 0.7 is fit for converting illustrations and sketches to a photorealistic image.

Anyway, here's the result:

Prompt: realistic, Denoising Strength: 0.7

Fingers a little jammed on this one and the pose isn't quite right so you might want to generate more to get good results. Again, adjust the denoising strength, higher or lower.

Anyway, the previous prompt is only "realistic" and it works, but I still recommend you to describe the image you want, as detailed as possible.

No need to think too much, just describe our previously uploaded image, like "beautiful chinese girl, long red dress, necklace, flower on hair". Don't type "illustration" though, since we want Lyvia to make photorealistic image, not illustration.

Here's what I got after few generations:

Prompt: beautiful chinese girl, long red dress, necklace, flower on hair, Denoising Strength: 0.7

Play around with the settings and see what you can find.

Transforming from Photo to Anime

Ok, now that we are able to transform an illustration to photorealistic image, how do we transform a photo to anime or illustration? That's right! Do the exact steps like above. Type "anime" or "illustration" in your prompt and select Lyvia Anime 2/3 in your model, then play with denoising strength.

Happy generating!
